Hire Period

The standard hire period is three consecutive days, starting and ending on the dates selected by the hirer.
You must return your dress on the third day of hire. If this falls on a weekend, return it on the next business day following your event date.

Late returns may incur additional fees as outlined in Hire by Lauren’s Hire Agreement.
If a late return results in the cancellation of a subsequent booking for the same garment, the responsible hirer will be required to cover the full cost of that cancelled booking.

A valid residential address must be given at the time of booking. Parcel Lockers and PO Boxes are not accepted and will not be sent off if an alternative address has not been provided.


Payment, Exchanges, Store Credit & Refunds

Full payment is required to secure your booking and it is not confirmed until payment is received in full.

We do not offer refunds for any reason, including change of mind. Clients who cancel at least seven days before the hire period will receive a full store credit. If a client fails to notify Hire by Lauren and does not collect or use their hire, the booking will be forfeited with no credit or refund.

Store credit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and is non-transferable.
Once a hire item has been dispatched, no refunds or credits will be provided, regardless of whether the item is worn.

Exchanges may be available upon request, subject to item availability and approval by Hire by Lauren. Any price difference must be paid prior to confirmation and an additional fee may apply.


Postal Hires

Return shipping is an additional $30, though costs may increase to $40 depending on parcel weight. A pre-paid express return satchel and instructions are provided with every order.

Hire by Lauren always posts items early to ensure timely delivery, however, we are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post. Delivery times can be unpredictable and no refund will be issued for postal delays or incorrect/invalid addresses.

Bookings placed fewer than five business days before the hire period are made at the client’s own risk and will not be refunded if it does not arrive in time.

Clients must return their hire item over the counter at an Australia Post office by 3:00PM the day after their event or the following Monday morning if it falls on a weekend.


Pick-Up Hires

All client pick-ups are from Westleigh 2120. The full address will be provided upon booking confirmation.

All hire items must be returned to the same location at a time confirmed with Hire by Lauren. As this is a home studio, clients may be required to pick up or drop off with a family member. All collections and returns must be pre-arranged through booking confirmation.

At the time of booking, clients must state their preferred collection time. If you forget to include this, please email hirebylauren@outlook.com to organise.

All packaging materials provided with the hire (including coat hangers and garment bags) must be returned. Missing or unreturned items may incur a replacement fee.


In-Home Studio Try-Ons

Try-ons are available by appointment only. Each session runs for 30 minutes and allows one person to try on up to three dresses.

A $15 try-on fee applies per booking. This fee is non-refundable and cannot be credited toward future hires, regardless of attendance or outcome.

You may bring one guest for viewing only. If you’d like to attend with friends or need extra time, please book back-to-back appointments.

All try-ons take place in Westleigh 2120, with the full address provided upon booking confirmation.

As dresses are regularly out for hire, cleaning or alterations, specific availability cannot be guaranteed. Clients are encouraged to contact Hire by Lauren before booking to confirm item availability.

Please note: items may become unavailable at short notice due to last-minute hires. In such cases, Hire by Lauren will assist in rescheduling your appointment where possible.

Any marks, stains or damage incurred during your try-on session may result in repair or replacement charges up to the full retail value of the item.

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals must still finish within the original 30-minute period to avoid affecting later sessions.

If arrival is more than 20 minutes late, the booking will be marked as a no-show and cancelled with no refund issued.

Appointments may be rescheduled once, provided at least 48 hours notice is given and the requested time is available.


Damages

Please treat all garments with care. A basic dry cleaning is included in the hire cost, however if a second or specialised dry cleaning is required, this must be paid for by the hirer in addition when asked.

  • Irreparable damage: Full RRP must be paid, you may keep the item.

  • Repairable damage: Hire by Lauren will contact you to discuss repair costs and this must be paid when asked.

  • Booking impact: If damage affects another hire, you are responsible for that client’s refund and any related fees.

Do not attempt cleaning or repairs yourself. All cleaning and repairs are managed through our trusted professional services.

By hiring, you accept that all items are second-hand and minor wear is expected. No refunds or discounts will be provided for this.


Late Fees

If a hire item is returned late or not in line with return instructions, a late fee of $25 per day will apply.

If a late return causes cancellation or refund of a subsequent booking, the client will be liable for the full cost of that booking, in addition to any late fees or related charges.


Cancellations by Hire by Lauren

Hire by Lauren reserves the right to cancel any booking in the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing order fulfilment. This may include (but is not limited to):

  • The item being damaged, lost, or stolen by a previous client

  • The item being returned late, preventing timely dispatch


Lost or Stolen Items

If a hire item is lost or stolen during the hire period, the client will be required to pay a replacement fee determined by Hire by Lauren, based on the item’s RRP, demand and other factors, minus any hire fees already paid.


Agreement to Policies

This is a legally binding contract. Failure to comply with these terms may result in a claim being filed, contact with law enforcement and/or the use of debt collection services.

By hiring through Hire by Lauren, you acknowledge and agree to all terms and conditions listed above.
